Welcome back ....

To our Alumni/ae

It is awesome to imagine a host of Xavierites, spread out over the globe, touched by the magic of Xavier’s. A global host of alumni/ae, with memories of what, many say, were the best years of their lives.

In our globalised world, with every corner networking with the other, generating synergies, we at Xavier’s seek a link-up with alumni spread afar and near. Our Alumni Association has completed a century and going strong. Alumni can be a powerful force for change, for revolution in society, for the betterment of humanity. Perhaps the time has come to get in touch and work up these synergies.

In Bangalore a group of 30 alumni have decided to get together and form an association of their own. In England and other parts of the world, there already exist some formal and informal groupings of Xavierites. The aim is always to enjoy fellowship but also to give back to society. Alumni of Jesuit institutions across the globe are encouraged by Fr. Kolvenbach, the Jesuit Superior General, to begin works that seek to bring equity and justice to peoples. Some groups have started schools for the disadvantaged and other socially relevant projects to further this cause.

Collaborating in strengthening the education in your alma mater is also a good cause that you can adopt. This does not just mean financial collaboration but also other types like offering to take guest lectures in the area of your expertise when you are in Mumbai, sending us the latest books and audio visual material you may be in possession of in different subjects, helping with placements for our present students and, of course, sponsoring infra-structure on campus. Alumni have recently enabled us to upgrade our Audio-Visual Facilities, begin a well equipped Language Laboratory and build up a Digital Library. Your collaboration will be very welcome.
