Confirming the ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE MUMBAI ALUMNI/AE LUNCH IN NEW YORK

Some of you must have already received from us or from other alumni, our invitation to join together for an Alumni Lunch in New York. I am on my way to Mexico for an International Meeting of Jesuit Administrators of Universities and Colleges. Our Vice Principal for Academics, Dr. (Ms.) Vivien Amonkar, has also been invited to the Mexico event. We have arranged to travel with a stopover in New York.
It is our pleasure to invite you to an Alumni Lunch on the 18th of April 2010. This will be a chance for all of you on the East Coast and elsewhere in the U.S./Canada to get-together with the present leadership of St. Xavier's. We are happy to announce that some of our alumni have made arrangements for the lunch at UTSAV RESTAURANT, located at 1185 Avenue of Americas, 46thst, between 6th and 7th avenues, New York, NY 10036, Tel # 212-575-2525. It will be from 11.30 am to 3.00 pm. We suggest a contribution of $30 per person to defray the organisational expenses including lunch. You are encouraged to bring your spouse along. There is discounted parking for five hours available at ICON PARK at 47thst. between 6th and 7th avenues with validated parking ticket.
We would be pleased to share with you through a brief audio-visual presentation, our efforts to continue the rich tradition of excellence that our faculty and students have been able to achieve. We are on the verge of a new beginning, with the University about to grant us Academic Autonomy to design our own courses, frame our syllabii and have our own evaluation, with the University continuing to award the Degrees. We will be the first such College in Mumbai. At this exciting time, we welcome the involvement of alumni, with your rich international experience, to share with us what you would like to see at St. Xavier's. Our alumni have often appreciated the role that St. Xavier's College has played in their lives. Here is a chance to touch base, once again.
On the occasion of our 140th year in 2009, we have published a Coffee Table Book on St. Xavier’s College, the first of its kind and appreciated for its quality. We could make a copy of the book available to you in New York for $70 (avoiding Courier charges) and will appreciate if you could reserve a copy as soon as possible. While we would only be able to carry a limited number of copies to New York, the book could also be ordered online at http://www.redboxrewards.com/newredbox/xaviers/
In order to make adequate arrangements for the April 18th lunch event we will need to have confirmation of your attendance. We are pleased that we have received a good response to our previous email notification and many of you have already replied in the affirmative.
